Alveolar Ejective Affricate

1. ts’et’ìidzèè [ts’ɛt’jɑdʒè:] "tobacco"  -  Speaker: SP2

An alveolar ejective affricate ts’ [ts’] in word-initial position. This ejective is weak; there is only a slight period of silence between the fricative portion of the sound and the onset of the vowel.   In both example and the following one, this sound is very similar to the aspirated alveolar affricate ts [tsʰ].

2. nįhts’i [nĩts’i] "wind"  -  Speaker: SP2

The alveolar ejective affricate in word-medial position. In this example, this sound is very similar to the alveolar ejective t’ [t’].
